Jackie Enon Ford. Jackie Ford graduated from Rockport High School in 1954, a high school classmate of mine that I knew very well. He was a quiet person, never getting into trouble; one might say, a model student. He was born in McHenry and probably started his primary education there as a McHenry "Merry Mack". A year or two after starting school, at McHenry, and being raised by a single parent, he and his mother moved to a hillside home on State Highway #85 between Highway #62 and West Providence Baptist Church. Any visit to his home was always a pleasant visit and I hope he felt the same way when he would visit my home in Rockport. After he graduated from Rockport High School in 1954, he left the area and I saw him no more. Sometime after graduating, he volunteered to serve this country by joining the US Navy. He served his four year term with honor, becoming a Korean War Veteran. I know practically nothing about his service career and very little about his life after his graduation. I will leave this page in the construction stage, for the time being, hoping that someone will be able to provide me with more information on Jackie, especially information of his military life. I am doing mostly guessing now, with this paragraph being information that I think is correct. Jackie met his wife while he was in the service and they moved to Michigan after his discharge from the Navy. He was probably discharged while stationed in Michigan and he and his wife just settled in that area to raise their family. Their children consisted of twin boys and a girl. After raising their family in Michigan, Jackie and his wife moved back to Kentucky and eventually settled in Philpot for their semi-retirement. Jackie then started working for the Tennessee Valley Authority at the Paradise Steam Plant until he retired. Obituary of Jackie Enon Ford. March 6, 1936~ May 27, 2025(age 89)89 Years Old. Online messages of condolence may be left for the family of Jackie Enon Ford by visiting his memorial tribute at www.danksfuneralhome.com If you are at this point, thanks for reading and being patient. I do enjoy playing with this type script and to have one read and look at what I have come up with is just an extra bonus. This type endeavor certainly gives an old retiree something to do and especially on a cool, wintry day. Anyway, hope you have enjoyed the "Soldier Series". The series is not over, but it has slowed. I have run out of pictures and write-ups and without them, I have no material to continue. If you have a picture and information about a soldier friend or kin and willing to share, I can work with you on getting a Soldier Page for that person. Just contact me. See you...... jrd |
